Mirrored Elements – MEP
Some MEP elements with connectors must not be mirrored. Mirroring these can cause serious problems in system connectivity and downstream coordination.
The following categories are included in this rule:
- Air Terminals
- Cable Trays
- Cable Tray Fittings
- Conduits
- Ducts
- Duct Fittings
- Flex Ducts
- Pipes
- Pipe Fittings
- Wires
- 1 = facing flipped
- 2 = hand flipped
Note: The image shows a door as an example to illustrate flipping directions. The flipping logic is the same for MEP elements like ducts and pipes.
How to Fix
If DAQS Assist reports any of the following test failures:
handFlippedIsFalse
→ Click the arrows at position 2 in the image above.facingFlippedIsFalse
→ Click the arrows at position 1 in the image above.
These actions will correct the mirroring issue in Revit and restore proper element orientation.
Why This Matters
Mirrored MEP elements (like ducts, pipes, or cable trays) may cause connector misalignments, broken system paths, or invalid data exports. Always ensure MEP elements with connectors are properly placed and not flipped.
