Mirrored Elements

Some elements can cause issues in BIM workflows when mirrored. Always reconsider whether an element should be mirrored, especially when it includes connectors.

Note: This rule performs a broad check and may include elements where mirroring is not actually a problem.
Important: This rule does not detect flipped walls!

  • facingFlipped = true → Element is mirrored along its facing direction.
  • handFlipped = true → Element is mirrored by hand (along its axis of rotation).

How to Fix

If DAQS Assist reports one of the following test failures:

  • handFlippedIsFalse → Click the arrows at position 2 in the image above.
  • facingFlippedIsFalse → Click the arrows at position 1 in the image above.

What Does It Mean?

  • handFlipped means the door remains on the same side of the wall, but the swing direction is reversed.
  • facingFlipped means the door has been mirrored to the opposite side of the wall.
